Beschreibung
The author spent more than three decades traveling through eastern and south-eastern Africa. These experiences and studies have resulted in a book project that is much more than a descriptive travelogue.
Against the backdrop of profound global crises, the focus is on ecological, social and economic problem analyses as well as sustainable, international solution concepts. To this end, the experiences and insights of Africa‘s impressive and rich treasures of people, history and culture, nature and landscape, ideas, creativity and life values are being reassessed and evaluated for their own continent on the one hand, but also their importance for the future of the world on the other. In the „explorations of another world“, the great importance of complex-dynamic self-organization processes, which are also deeply rooted in the thoughts and actions of African culture, must be emphasized.
The author therefore calls for an African-European dialog in order to come to terms with the historical relationship between Europe and Africa. On the other hand, it is important to jointly develop global „paths to a new future“, in which the dimension of „culture as a value of life“ plays a central role. It is high time for the African continent to participate fairly and appropriately in future-oriented processes of shaping the world.
Africa‘s young societies have far more to offer the Old World than is generally assumed, namely valuable contributions to comprehensive and holistic strategies for innovative sustainability.
